Did you enjoy the holidays?
It feels bittersweet to me.
I feel sad that the holidays are over, but also excited to grow some flowers.
My paperwhites are blooming and daffodils are starting to come up.
As I ponder the New Year, I think of a word that will guide me.
My word for 2023 is Intention!
If I have an idea, I ask, “What is my intention?”
I’ve picked a word or phrase for the last several years and this phrase is still my favorite and the reason why The Flower House has stars.
As we embark on a New Year, I hope you set some small goals for yourself.
Seeing the word “small” is not popular, however, I believe everything starts small.
Each step counts and doing something little adds up over time.
This is how I care for the weeds in our front landscape.
Every day I pick a handful of weeds… insignificant at the time; but by the end of the week, I’ve picked about 70- plus weeds.
This method has kept our weeds down and I barely notice I’m doing it!
Oftentimes, big dreams can leave us feeling overwhelmed.
Decision fatigue sets in and no action.
Start small and build as you go.
Do you pick a word or phrase for the year?
If so I would love to know what you picked.
Happy New Year, friends!
I hope you can enjoy the stillness of winter.
Kindly, xo
Jane
