Sharing My Favorite Tulips
Are you planting tulips this fall?
With fall planting around the corner, I wanted to share what I’ll be planting and doing differently this year.
My tulips arrived a couple of weeks ago, but they’re in storage since it’s still too hot to plant them.
Last year I shared my Top Tulip Picks.
If you haven’t ordered any bulbs there’s still time!
This year I’ll be planting most of my bulbs inside of the black crates they arrive in.
(mine arrive in crates because of the quantity I order)
Last year I planted them in my silo rings, but I now have coneflowers in two of the rings.
So I decided to plant most of the tulips in crates because it’s easy.
This way I also won’t mind cutting them for photos.
Even though I grow an abundance of flowers I often find it hard to cut them because I enjoy seeing the flowers in the garden.
Another reason is that my spring flowers were still blooming when I needed to plant my zinnias, dahlias, and sunflowers.
Planting the majority of tulips in crates will free up my flower beds for late spring planting.
Tulips Renown Unique Pictured
Pink and Salmon Impression will be the majority of the bulbs I plant along with a few Renown Unique.
It’s always hard to pick favorites, but these three had such large blooms and pretty colors.
They also held up in the rain and stormy weather and were a joy to see in the garden after winter.
Share in the comments below what tulips are your favorites.
Happy Planting
Kindly, xo
Jane
