Dried Hydranges with a quote from Lao Tzu

Hi friends, as we slowly slip into 2021 I wanted to share the reasons

“Why I Don’t Do A 365 Photography Project”

But before we start I want to ensure that we start on a positive note!

I believe doing a 365 Photography Project is amazing…it’s just not for me!

And in case you’re like me, I thought I would share my reasons why.

Why I Don’t Do A 365 Photography Project

I’m a natural gatherer, methodical, and in love with the whole process of styling a photoshoot.

For me, a photograph starts with vintage prop shopping or looking through my vintage stash to find what I have in mind.

It’s also the moment I sow my first flower seeds of the season.

Always taking a mental picture of what I dream of capturing with my camera.

Looking at the weather for the week and gathering my vintage props and flowers.

In ways, I consider it “The Art of Slow Living.”

I let things stir up in me creatively and even though I may grow as a photographer with a 365 Photography Project I’m simply in love with my slow intentional process.

The styling and editing all have a special place in my heart.

For me, I would feel rushed if I took a photo every day.

We don’t always need to make the perfect choice, we just need to make the perfect choice for us.

The one we will stick to and the one that brings us joy.

Share in the comments below if you enjoy a 365 or not.

We can all be guided by each other and grow with positive encouragement.

If you missed last week’s post I shared my words for 2021.

And as always thank you for following, sharing, and pinning!

Kindly, xo

These two statements/reasons from your list are simply enough. When did accomplishments replace contentment in our lives? Slow down and enjoy.

  • Hi Jane!
I think your work reflects your inner feelings. To me your photos always project a sense of peace, calm, light and love. Adding the pressure of producing a photo a day would change the lovely way you style, photograph and edit. The world we live in is stressful enough, and adding pressure to create is counterproductive in my opinion!
When I look back over the year 2020 I can see that I have grown as a photographer, but I know I still have much to learn. Thank you for inspiring me on this journey !
