Our flower garden is full of a rainbow of colors.
Attracting daily visitors of butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds!
With my love of using flowers in my photography, I decided to plant from seed this year.
I wanted an abundance of beautiful blooms to enjoy and photograph for my print collection.
I never realized how much joy they would bring us.
Watching the butterflies fly from one bloom to another as I tend to the flowers.
Cutting the blooms in the early morning for my photos and to give to our neighbors.
After the initial set-up of the raised beds, it’s inexpensive to start the flowers from seed.
This is wonderful news for someone like me that likes using an abundance of flowers for photos.
We’ve had an idea for a flower farm for several years and I shared my thoughts in this blog post.
Happy we decided to start small!
At the back of this photo, you can see my sunflowers.
Ruby Eclipse & Pro Cut White Nite Sunflowers.
They exceeded my expectation and I will definitely be planting more next year.
The Pro Cut White Nite Sunflowers have a beautiful ivory petal with a dark rich center.
I’ll probably stagger the seeds next year so I have sunflowers for a wee bit longer.
Do you plant from seed?
If so please share your tips 👩🏻‍🌾
Kindly, xo

Loving your blooms and wishing I was your neighbor 🙂 I started some seeds this year (it would help if I didn’t accidentally water them with the alcohol solution I use for disinfecting!). I can’t wait to dry the ones that hung in there. I hope you dry some of your beautiful sunflowers!
oh my, that is sad!
I hope you try again next year & we can compare notes, xo
