Barn Studio. We created this space from old barns that were falling down.

Barn Studio

Barn Photography Studio

Hi friends

If you’re like me…you’re wondering how can it be the end of August!

Having said that, we still have a good month or so of heat in the Carolina’s.

I’m happy about that as I’m not ready to give up the last days of summer quite yet.

Many of you follow me on Instagram where I share the progress of my barn studio on my stories.

I’m super excited about it and finally have a few pictures to show you.

When I was a vintage dealer the barn was two stories and filled with antiques.

Over the years my love of photography grew and I made a decision to give up selling antiques/vintage.

It has taken me a couple of years to close locations, sell my stock at shows and learn about photography.

I’m happy to say that I finally feel ready to embrace the next chapter.

The barn has now become an extension of my loft studio.

I get asked about heat/cooling and I never wanted to go to this extent.

The reason is pretty simple…I want it to remain a barn.

A pretty barn, but a barn and something that feels significantly different than being in our home.

One of the things that I thought of over the course of renovating the barn is understanding what I want to offer all of you.

What is this business about and what is the barn for?

My love of vintage is not going anywhere and getting behind my camera to photograph my treasures is something that calms me and in turn, I hope you feel that when you look at my photos.

I’m an anxious person in many ways and when I get behind my camera that all goes away.

The one thing that I have wrestled with over the last couple of years is deciding to photograph couples.

I kept saying no….telling my husband…I don’t do that!

It’s so different to take pictures of people(that is true), however, I had to get quiet to understand if fear was holding me back?

Getting out of my own way and listening!

What kept showing up and why?

A few things took place to make me realize what I was being called to do.

It felt like the perfect pairing to also offer photography packages.

I have three couples coming out to the barn at the end of September.

This will help me figure out what people are looking for before I launch my photography packages.

I also have not forgotten about small retreats…something I ponder often.

As the sun sets on the barn I contemplate change and how it can feel uneasy at times.

However, it can also be an opportunity for growth both personally and professionally.

My hope in sharing my story, with its many twists and turns, is that you may see yourself in me.

Kindly, xo

Jane
