Styling
If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed a few pictures under a big old tree.
I wanted to walk you through a photo and how I love to style my pieces before I send them off to another home…truth be told…I keep a few 😉
When I set out to style a photo I usually have an idea in mind.
Starting with my bigger piece and working from there.
In this case a rickety old farm table with one crooked leg
but
she’s sturdy and I can lift her which is always good!
I then added the voile for texture and dreaminess.
I slowly add keeping in mind the rule of odd numbers…but I’m also the first to break those rules.
Since I style with my vintage pieces I don’t always have the exact amount.
I’m not going to run around looking for something…I make do with what I have.
It feels authentic that way…like most of my vintage pieces…nothing is perfect.
The seltzer bottles add a little height and I like the solid spout.
This old scoop is perfect for the tulips.
The height and daintiness are just right for the size of the table.
A little bistro chair and slowly it all comes together.
The soft breeze blows the voile and the sun streams through the tree branches casting shadows.
Something I would have avoided in the past…is now a favorite for me.
For years I have filled my antique booth, shows, barn sale and never stopped to capture the beauty of a piece.
As life got busier I started to slow down a bit…no more big shows and I wanted to enjoy my pieces a little while longer.
My vignettes are ideas for my booth space, playful and I hope they evoke a sense of calm.
Of simpler times
and the joy to keep learning.
Kindly, xo
Jane

Hi Courtney, thank you for taking the time to visit & your kind words, xo
I love this – so simple and believe breaking the rules is a good thing. That’s when creativity shows up and makes everything great. The faded tulips are the perfect touch but how that runner drapes is simply elegant. This makes me smile..
I love this, Always beautiful Jane,
