“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”
I’ve been busy shopping and planning for our booth and the May Barn Show.
Spring shopping is one of my favorite times of year.
Getting up at the crack of dawn to hit a flea market is more enjoyable in warmer weather and I love to hunt for anything that will hold flowers.
I had come across the usual galvanized tubs, buckets, and wooden totes, but I had not found a wash tub at the right price.
We saw several during our week in Round Top, but they were all priced at what I sell them for.
Rows upon rows and I had to keep walking!
By this time last year I had several lined up waiting for spring, but so far this year I was skunked…until my hubby brought home this galvanized sink/wash tub!
Different than the traditional wash and baby bath tubs that I have grown to love, but it was pulling me in as it hung out in our driveway.
It needed just a little bit of something…
My first thought was to stencil the front of the wash tub…my husband on the other hand thought it needed a top so it could act as a potting bench of sorts.
As he was playing with the top I decided I liked having a couple of boards so that there was a small bench top.
This way you could still have your flowers in it and as far as showcasing the tub for my booth the top would not hide the fact that it is a wash tub.
I stained a couple of boards, nailed them together and added a little piece of barnwood on either end.
My Flower Market Stencil from Funky Junk Interiors(Old Sign Stencils) was the perfect embellishment.
The top can be used for a watering can, gardening tools, or an extra layer of flowers.
As far as a booth display I’ll add the watering can and leave out the flowers so that everyone can see the tub.
What do you like to put your flowers in?
As always I would love to hear from you in the comments below, xo
Kindly,
Jane
