Spring’s Gentle Arrival & The Magic of Daffodils
Spring in the South is magical, and daffodil season was especially beautiful this year. Though their blooms are starting to fade, they’ve left me with a heart full of inspiration.
Every morning, I stepped outside to see the daffodils filling the garden with color and warmth. This year was different because of how much time we spent planting them last fall. We used a drill to tuck each bulb into the grass. Seeing them bloom made the effort worth it!
I photographed so many varieties—some familiar, others new favorites—and found myself drawn again and again to the quiet moments they offered. The light, the curves of the petals, the way the garden shifted each day—it was all so fleeting, and that’s what makes it special.
A Photo Surprise at the Flower House
One morning, I stopped gardening to capture a photo of the flower house. Later, while editing, I noticed a sun star shining through the window—an unexpected little gift that reminded me why I love photography. It’s about being present enough to catch those small, magical details.
There’s something so grounding about photographing the garden. I pause more. I listen. I take it all in. And while I love that quiet time, I’m also grateful for the chance to connect with others who find meaning in slowing down and creating.
Community Through Slow Storytelling
The Art of Slow Storytelling Workshop is currently in session, and these Zoom gatherings have been such a gift. In a fast-paced world, slowing down and sharing our creative journeys has felt like a deep breath.
Sometimes just speaking your dreams aloud or walking through a creative block with someone else can help you move forward. Whether you’re creating for joy or beginning to explore a bigger vision, it all matters.
Mentoring & Creative Support
The workshop won’t reopen until spring 2026, but I do have space for a few one-on-one mentoring sessions. These calls are a chance to focus on what you need most—whether it’s photography, editing in Lightroom, storytelling, flower growing, or sharing your work on social media.
As spring continues and peony season begins, I’m still reflecting on the beauty the daffodils brought this year. I hope you’ve had a chance to pause and notice the little things too.
kindly, xo
