Pink Peonies in The Flower House

In Bloom

In early spring we were greeted with beautiful tulips and daffodils.

The flower garden was coming alive after a long winter’s rest.

And I was excited to see the birds returning to once again call this place home.

As the tulips and daffodils started to fade the peonies were starting to bloom.

Huge fluffy blooms that smelled like the earth.

I enjoy the varying stages of the peonies as they open.

Working with the stems as they lean a certain way.

It’s those types of stems that I look for…the ones that curve or lean.

They add romanticism to bouquets and a flower photographer’s dream!

The sun was just starting to set and the air was thick with heat and humidity.

These are the moments that I long for.

The birds are singing, flying in and out of the birdbath as I style a photo.

I feel at home in these moments…at peace creating a photo with the hope that it will evoke a feeling in you.

A feeling of simplicity, calm, and peacefulness.

I always appreciate it when you let me know what photos I should print and to see the photos that have become note cards and prints please visit The JM Shop
