A Bucket of Sunflowers | Self Portrait | Still Photography

It all began with a seed and a dream!

I remember the day I moved to the South from Canada.

As I was saying goodbye to my brother and his family he told me I should sign up for Facebook so we could stay in contact.

I told him “no”

Communicating in this way has never felt personal to me!

While it has its perks…I still love real authentic connections and sending notecards across the miles.

Just like photos…cards and letters are cherished.

The idea behind the seed was that I would grow happiness

Sharing the story of a little seed as it makes its way through the dirt…becoming a beautiful bloom.

Each bloom has a story…one of romance, happiness, hope, and kindness!

As I style and photograph the flowers I think of the miles each card will travel.

The hands it will touch and how the simple act of sending snail mail is more thoughtful today than ever.

After moving to the south I realized how much I loved sending and receiving cards.

A simple act of kindness that makes someone feel loved.

She’s pretty with dark, fuzzy centers and dainty fringe!

A showstopper in the flower garden and a home for the bees.
