One Photo Three Ways
One morning I thought I would watch the light and how the shadows played on my photo.
Watching the subtle changes in my photo had me thinking about how easy it is to change an image.
These two photos are taken an hour apart with the same camera settings and editing.
You can see a slight change in the shadows.
Small changes in the light throughout the day is what I look for.
While this is a subtle difference, it is what I look for to change my photo slightly while keeping with a light and airy feel.
As I watched the light play on my image I decided to change my lens.
The first two images were shot with a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 and the two cropped images a Nikon 50mm f/1.8.
Simply changing out my lens and cropping the image changes the whole look and feel.
You can barely make out my shiplap lines with the 50mm.
As a little bonus you can also add text.
This is easy to do in Photoshop and a fun way to play around with your image.
All of these examples are an easy way to take your photo and change it depending on where you’re posting it.
For me
I like to post a large image on Instagram with lots of breathing room.
Playing with text for some of my Facebook images and a mix for my blog.
I believe we can often feel stuck when it comes to what to post.
Maybe next time take your photo several ways so you have more mileage out of the same scene.
You may just discover a new angle or way to crop that you and your followers love.
Kindly, xo
Jane
