Rustic Spring Garden
It is that time of year…flowers are blooming and flea markets are in full swing!
If you love a vintage garden then this is the perfect time of year to hunt for those unique pieces.
I wanted to recreate the beautiful images I have seen on the web of antique pulley’s filled with flowers.
I thought they would be great for the barn porch and booth display!
You usually find pulley’s at flea markets mixed in with old tools…prices will vary depending on the size of the pulley.
Look for one or two pulley’s, old metal buckets and you may even be able to find rope(i did)!
Old watering cans would also look cute hanging from the pulley.
You can use any flowers you like to fill the buckets.
I recommend buying a bucket with holes or add holes so that the water will run out when you water your plants.
In this case, I had a bundle of dried hydrangeas waiting to go to my booth.
They were beautiful, but I wanted them to be a little pinker.
I purchased Design Master TintIt at Michaels.
This was the first time I had sprayed dried flowers.
It works well and I doubt anyone would know that I had sprayed them.
The contrast in color was just what I was looking for.
I gathered up a couple of buckets from the barn, rope, and pulleys.
I weaved the rope through the pulleys and unwound it to tie a knot around the bucket.
(it will have some weight so make sure the rope is good and tight)
My hubby put up a couple of J hooks to hang the pulleys.
This is one of my favorite rustic garden pieces thus far!
I admit I struggled with trying to capture the perfect shot for you.
They looked so cute nestled under the porch, but I had trouble with the shadows.
I hope whatever you are tackling you give it your all and then set it free…learn as you go!
Kindly, xo
Jane

This turned out fantastic – love the buckets hanging from the rope concept – thinking you just sparked an idea for the next property. I love hanging stuff in general – beautiful dried hydrangeas too.
